Midnight Star |
||
Midnight Star is a moorland gelding born in 1997. He came in from Bodmin Moor as a problem stallion who was breaking into fields and gardens and serving privately owned mares. No owner could be located and MAFF asked SWEP to take him in. The only other fate for him was to be shot. SWEP caught him and after castration, worming and halter breaking, Midnight Star turned into a friendly pony. He went out to a loan home in Newquay but he insisted on breaking out of his field. Fortunately, on the last occasion, he found himself on the Vicarage lawn. The Vicar knew who he belonged to and telephoned the loan home. We've been told that the Vicar had a word in Midnight Star's ear – since then he has never tried to escape again! We would love to know what was said. He is now much loved and a good riding pony. |
