Monday 26th June 2006 - PUB QUIZ

The Pub Quiz and Raffle was a great success raising £140.51.  The winning team scored 36 out of 40 and won £20.00.  The bottom team scored 31.5 points and won a consolation prize of chocolate.

At £2.00 per person the night was excellent value for money as this not only covered the quiz entry but also paid for sandwiches and loads of nibbles.

Some of the lucky raffle prize winners donated their prizes to an auction which was held on completion of the raffle and raised £5.00.

Thanks go to:
Paula Serpell for organising the event.

Father Freddie for setting the questions and acting as quizmaster.

Jane and Adrian as landlady and landlord of the Mountain Inn, Lutton.

Friday 9th June 06 - AN EVENING OF MEDIUMSHIP

An evening of Mediumship in aid of SWEP took place in Kingsteignton on Friday 9th June.  The grand total raised for SWEP was an excellent £482.10 and will be used to help our rescued ponies.

A full house it was an evening of great success and surprises for some of the audience as deceased friends and relatives came through to pass messages onto their loved ones.

With personal items chosen at random and the owners not known to the Mediums they gave an insight to its owners personality and health.  With some humour and sensitivity a lot of messages passed to their loved ones the evening was a tremendous lift to a lot of people.

Many thanks to Eric Beer and the 3 Mediums Pam Beer, Beryl Dyson and Jacki Humphries and of course the volunteers who helped on the evening.

Wednesday 7th June 06 - DEMONSTRATION ON NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP

A Demonstration on Natural Horsemanship in aid of SWEP took place on Wednesday 7th June at Poltimore Equestrian Centre.  The grand total raised for SWEP was an excellent £469.00 of much needed funds.

The demonstration was organised by fluer@naturalmatters.net and was delivered by Eddy Modde a 3* Parelli instructor from the Netherlands and Devon's 2* Parelli instructor Alison Jones.

The evening was great success with a full attendance by the public.  Eddy Modde with his tranquil demonstration of harmony between horse and himself with a good sense of humour added in.  Alison Jones demonstrated how connected and in tune with her horse she was; and the silent commands she gave her horse was a delight to see.

It was a very professional and informative evening.

SWEP would like to thank Wendy at Exeter Equestrian Centre, Poltimore for the use of their excellent facilities.
