Grand Parade rosetteGrand Parade rosetteGrand Parade of Rescues

The reasons for our Grand Parade are twofold. To show that, whether once wild, abused or abandoned, our resues can make loving and reliable riding or driving horses and ponies.

The second, and more important purpose is for SWEP to pay tribute to our Loan Home families who have offered our rescues not only homes, but unstinting love and care.

We hope the pictures on this page and Page Two give you a feel of what our Grand Parade Day was like. On Page 3 you will find links to the photos and stories of all the horses and ponies who came along.

It was a beautiful day. The traffic was all going the other way and parking at the Royal Cornwall Showground couldn't be easier. We were there early and so were able to catch the ponies unloading:
A summer sky
Downloading Drummer
Two Boxer dogs look out from driver's cab
Moon with travelling companion
Fern unloaded and ready to go!
Drummer looks out from the horsebox
Harry and his 'Dad'
Getting ready to unload Merlin II
Guinevere and Tuppence

There were also a few other animals around -

Ederly Boxer, seen it, done it!
Puppy German Shepherd
Two Jack Russels squaring up
Handsome Dacshound
Two jack Russels shout at each other
then have a good sniff !

but I wasn't at all sure of their behaviour or morals! Soon, the Parade started. Some found that they didn't like the tannoy -

Guinevere
Harry and his 'Mum'
Little Dewey
Red - minus rider
Going to catch him up
Red's jockey back on board
