SWEP Pony “Slater Bart” affectionately known as “Bart”

Bart is ridden by Alice, my 12 year old daughter; they are a good combination.  Bart is a keen, sound pony who enjoys his life.  He has competed in a wide variety of events such as Cross Country at the Grange and Winkleigh, Pony Club Rallies (we belong to Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club), Team Show jumping at the Grange, Coombe Park and Tall Trees and won the Pony Club Christmas Show overall points.  A bold jumper Bart has been placed in novice and small open Show Jumping classes, at Yealmpton Show he was 4^th in the 13.2hh and under jumping and 3^rd in the 14.2hh and under jumping, and he has also won rescue relays.  Bart goes hunting, partakes in pleasure rides, does One Day Events (ODE), at a recent ODE he was 4^th (Clear Jumping and Cross Country), and has a go at Gymkhana, Chase Me Charlie and Pole Bending.  Bart loves riding out with his friends jumping gorse brushes logs and ditches.

Bart does not have any vices and is easy to catch.  Alice puts him in the trailer and he only gets a little anxious coming out of the trailer as he can’t wait to get going, a little impatient once at an event until he gets jumping

Bart has 5* accommodation with access to a field shelter in all fields and a stable if necessary.  He is looking very well; he still works with no shoes, the farrier says his feet are brilliant, he is also up to date with his flu jab and has just had his teeth done.

Bart is sweet and kind; a true star we love him very much

Dear All

My mum thought you might like a copy of my most recent photograph, taken in Nov 06.  My mum really likes it because it shows how nice my red coat looks in the autumn sunshine.  She had to be quick taking it though, as I soon rolled in a nice (to me) patch of mud.  I like mud; mum doesn't.

I am very well and looking forward to Christmas.  I've been careful to give everyone at the yard big, slobbery kisses and to be on my best behaviour; as every other year I have done this presents have arrived at Christmas. (Edible ones! They're the best kind!) 

I hope everyone at SWEP and all the other SWEP ponies have a fabulous Christmas and New Year.  Special wishes to my old friend 'Blaze', and mum sends a cuddle to 'Carn' as he reminds her of me when I was little!
