TLC was not enoughApril 2005 - Bodmin Moor colt foal found abandoned in bad weather, the mare was nowhere to be found.  In the rain and sleet the colt was cold and near to death.  Without his mothers vital colostrum in the first few hours of his life it was too late to save him, and sadly he died a few days later.

January 2006 - Donkeys for sale by their owner, a horse dealer on Dartmoor, at Hatherleigh market.  The donkeys, whose feet were long and their body and legs were matted with dung, did not reach their reserve price and so did not sell.  SWEP gave the Donkey Sanctuary details and photographs to follow up.

February 2006 - SWEP attended a Moorland Mare  with an extremely badly infected eye.  The eye was full of puss and the mare was suffering loss of her sight, it was possible the eye had a thorn in it.  Farmer was notified but the mare was very difficult to catch; she was finally removed from the moor for treatment.
