Rehoming

When fit and well, our horses and ponies are rehomed on a loan basis, rather than being sold on. Because we have taken on life long responsibility for our rescues, we have a duty of care to ensure their future welfare. We take this commitment very seriously and run a scheme of six monthly inspections. These inspections are an opportunity for us to check that the horse’s or pony’s needs are still being met, for the foster carers to get any advice they need, and finally, and certainly not least, for us to have a small share in the joy of a happy ending for our rescues.

Due to our requirement to visit our loan ponies twice a year, we do not rehome outside of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.  If you are outside of our area for rehoming please visit our links page to see if there is a charity there nearer to your location.

We deal mainly with Dartmoor ponies that are normally very young and are no bigger than 12hh.  Most of the ponies we look to rehome would be for companion purposes only although in the right home could be brought on to become lead reign ponies or ridden ponies.  If this is what you are looking for, there will be a special page listing ponies suitable for this purpose.

Visits to the yard are by appointment only and will only be arranged once your home check is done.

If you would like to see if you could be suitable, then please visit our Suitability page.

If you would like to be considered as a loan home there are a number of ways to apply:
